【BEIJING, CHINA - April 10, 2026】 AGIBOT today demonstrated a humanoid robot capable of playing table tennis in fully autonomous, continuous rallies with humans, marking a step toward real-time, high-speed interaction between robots and the physical world.

Unlike earlier robotics demonstrations that rely on pre-programmed sequences, AGIBOT’s robot operated without remote control or preset trajectories. It tracked the ball in real time, adjusted its positioning, and returned shots continuously during live play. The interaction featured sustained back-and-forth rallies, requiring rapid perception, decision-making, and coordinated movement under dynamic conditions.

The system integrates real-time visual perception with motion intelligence, enabling the robot to respond to variations in speed, spin, and trajectory within milliseconds. Table tennis, as a fast-paced and highly unpredictable sport, places significant demands on timing, coordination, and control, making it a challenging benchmark for embodied intelligence systems.

The demonstration took place in Beijing during an event commemorating the 55th anniversary of U.S.-China Ping-Pong Diplomacy, a historic moment that once symbolized cooperation through sport. This time, the exchange extended beyond nations to include machines, as a humanoid robot engaged in live rallies with world champion athletes.
